The True Business

H: All businesses set quarterly targets and every year they say to the employees and shareholders, “we are going to make this much profit by next year.  These are our targets and we are going to be number one by this time next year!”  They are all driven by profit and becoming number one. 

Baba Ji: These are the energies of ego - that’s all it is.  Saying or believing, “I want to make more  than my competitors,” is all ego-talk.   Even Sikhs saying or believing, “we are better than the others,” is all part of ego.   No matter what religion or path you are following, remember that your deeds should increase, not your ego. 

H: So what should the ideal company be then?  Say I am going to start a business how would I do it the right way? 

Baba Ji: Firstly, see that whatever business you are thinking of is just your mind operating under the influence of Maya.  So start a business in Truth.  That is the only true business to get you out of Maya.  That is the business of doing good deeds and providing compassion and service to others.   All other businesses are illusionary.  But, having said that, if God wants you to sell computers He will make you sell computers as its your destiny.   So do business as you would do your religion (honestly and with service attitude and don’t get driven by fear and greed), then the business does not bite you and Maya does not control you. 

But, very few do business like that.  Most people are like beggars trying to be kings.  They only go after wealth.  Bill Gates started off the same way chasing after wealth.  He had little education -  he was a drop out.  It is his past sowings that he reaped the rewards of in this life.  However, to his credit it was listening to his intuition that made him suceed.  He knows his internal Guru (God/intuition) so that is why he wins.   

Listen to your intuition, which is the Hukam of  your internal Eternal Guru.  But hardly anybody follows it.  But, the ones who do follow it, they become CEOs.  They have the  power of intuition.  When you follow it you’ll never lose.
