Dont Deny The Guru's Role In Your Bhagti - 18 Apr 11
SatNaam ji Ka Khalsa SatNaam Ji Kee Fateh.
BABA JI: Keep going, keep doing SatNaam whilst living out the karmic accounts (Lekha) of your life. I can say God is in the centre of your chest (hirdha) a thousand times, but not many truly believe it. Serving God means surrendering to Him, not dictating to Him. That means when you come under your SatGuru then you only have one response to whatever he says to you (which is for your spiritual growth and keeping you on the right track), and that response is “Sat Bachan – your words are Truth.” Not, “I got the spiritual rewards I wanted from you, so what do I need you for now?”
Now when you know that God has written your destiny (Bhaag) and your life’s interactions on your forehead (Mastakh lekh) before you where even born, then how can you deny the interactions you have in this life? If you don’t accept what is happening to you in this life is as per your destiny, that you created by what you had sown in the past, then you are denying the first aspect of God – to pay your dues.
So believe in the Guru that you are blessed with now, because this relationship was written for you before you were even born. It was written for you who your Guru would be, when you would meet them and how you would then self-realise.
Bhaag hoa gur-sant milaaiaa.
Prabh abinaasee ghar meh paaiaa.
As per destiny (Bhaag) the Sant-Guru was met.
Then the Indestructible Lord was realised within.
Guru Ram Das Ji.
If you self-realise but then go on and deny the crucial role of the Guru in your journey then you are denying the first aspect of God and that was that He Himself wrote your great good destiny (Bhaag) and you played it out. By denying the role of Bhaag and Guru in your spiritual process, you think you were in control of your self-realisation process. But, on this path there is no need for control by anyone. It is a game of Grace, Gurparsaadi Khel. In my devotion (bhagti) His grace came, He filled my lap and I multiplied that grace and placed it the laps of the ones who came to me. I came under Akal Purakhs’ Law and Dassan Dass Ji came under that Divine Law too. We have never argued or judged each other, we have only uplifted each other and whoever comes to us as per their destiny (Bhaag).
Meeting your Guru only happens in your life if is written on your forehead as per Divine Law of Bhaag. Your coming into this human life was as per your Bhaag. Each and every interaction you had was as per your Bhaag which finally led to your relationship with your Guru. That all happened as per your great good fortune – your Bhaag. Bhaag that leads to your Guru is the ladder of spirituality. So how can you go against that (by saying that meeting the Guru was no different than meeting others as they are all just forms of God?) By saying that, you are denying the great role Bhaag played in your spiritual life. Without grace you cannot surrender. We took the grace of God, multiplied it and gave it out, so it went further and multiplied again (e.g. gave GurParsaad to Dassan Dass Ji who in turn multiplies it and gives it out to so many other thirsty souls).
You have to live a life under His Grace, so be gracious, be in surrender to Him and the Guru He Himself united you with and then pass the grace on to others. Only then do you serve. God loves each and every Brahmgiani as His own son/daughter. They have already paid their dues that is why they are called BrahmGianis. If you then go and disrespect them by judging their actions, then who are you to do so? When God is happy with his sons/daughters, the BrahmGianis, then who are you to judge them? I bow to all BrahmGianis, bow to them always, never judge them, God has embraced them, so who are we to judge them?
Do not think that God is blind to what you are doing. He can see all, He is in all. When you downplay your guru, you downplay God’s first law of “Bhaag Hoa Gur-Sant Milaayaa” – that only by the great good destiny He wrote for you , you were able to meet the Guru. Ego makes you steal and manipulate and pride overinflates what you think you are and in pride you downplay others. God doesn’t downplay others. Don’t think you are telling the Truth or serving the Truth when you are downplaying others especially your Guru.
Kabir Ji saw God on one side and his Guru on the other, he was in a dilemma as to who to bow to first. In the end he bowed to his Guru. And God is happy in that. God Himself lives for the upliftment of His Bhagat. God’s family is only the Bhagats (they are his true sons/daughters). They have sacrificed all worldly relationships including their biological family. If you are claiming to be a Bhagat have you detached from your family? Will your experience of Him be enough to break you from your family attachments? The Guru is breaking you from everything except God because God wants you all for Himself. Pure love requires total sacrifice. Pure love is served by your total sacrifice.
SatPurakh jin jaaniaayaa SatGur tis ka naao.
The one who knows Sat Purakh is called the Sat Guru.
Guru Arjun Dev ji.
I will tell you what Sat Purakh is. On this side, every living being has Divine Light in them. When you meditate and go to the other side, you see it united as One Light. That One Light is Sat Purakh (Truth Being). So don’t break any heart, because the One Light you claim to know on the other side, is the same light in every heart on this side.
In my devotion to serve the ones who have come to me as their Guru as per their Bhaag, what was my merchandise? The heart of God. When I give you the Naam, I am giving you my heart and who lives there? Nirankaar Himself – The Formless One. Naam is actually just an explanation for the Divine Light (Jyot) in my heart, and that Divine Light is Nirankaar. Then you may ask, “but why did I need the Guru to give me his heart, the Naam, the Jyot, when the Jyot is already in every living being?” And I will reply, “You already had the Jyot, but it was unlit. It has to be lit by someone who is lit, and whom you meet as per your great good Bhaag.”
That is how it works, first you have to have pre-ordained destiny (Bhaag) to meet the Sant-Guru. Everything is in order. That is how the string is. Who is the string on which this whole play is hung? God Himself. What is the merchandise (Baba Ji’s heart/Naam/Jyot)? God Himself. Who trades in this merchandise, Naam Vapaari? God Himself is the heart of the Brahmgiani. So DONT SLANDER the one who gave you his heart, gave you Naam/Jyot, gave you Nirankaar Himself.
God is dedicated to His Bhagat and the Bhagat is dedicated to God. I said that I screwed the one who created the screw! If you are greater than your Guru, then why are you using his words and his BrahmGyan that he delivered on this Earth? Use your own words.
The one who gave you everything, just keep yourself as a washer of their holy feet.
Charan sadh kay dhoi dhoi peevay.
Wash the Guru’s feet and drink it.
Guru Arjun Dev ji.
When you are in love then surrender is easy. The little love you had (but mostly doubts and ego) when you came to the Guru, the Guru multiplied that little bit of love you came with. Now show that love back in multitude to the Guru. Even Kabir Ji and Dhanna Ji gave so much love and thanks back to their own Gurus, and their Gurus were not even complete. (Kabir Ji’s Guru would not give Naam to a low caste, that’s why Kabir ji had to trick him by lying at his feet and letting the Guru stumble over him in the darkness as he went for a morning dip in the river. Kabir Ji’s guru stumbled and said “Ram Kar” meaning recite God’s name, that was enough to ignite him. Dhanna Ji was given a worthless rock by the local priest who wanted to get rid of Dhanna ji pestering him about God. But Dhanna ji’s simple innocent true love brought God out of the rock. Both of them only merged into the Divine Love and showered their Gurus with nothing but love and compassion and kindness regardless of their faults.)
Love can never go sour. Even if you only tasted love for a minute or for a day, that experience of love in that moment remains true always and forever, no matter what happened afterwards.
The definition of Guru is this: GU means darkness and RU means Light. So the Guru is the one who leads you from ignorance to Truth. First the grace happens upon you. How? In my devotion to God, grace happened upon me, I earned it multiplied it and gave it to you with no discrimination as to your caste, colour, religion, status or whether you were a criminal or a crook. Just gave you the grace without judging whatsoever. Just gave you my heart. So is it not your turn now to multiply that grace? Multiply that grace by robbing God’s house, because God wants you to rob him of the Amrit Naam, because this is the one thing that is worth taking. And the more you take from Him and distribute to others, the more God’s house (your heart) expands, His house never gets depleted. Love is dedication, surrender, devotion and sacrifice. If you are stealing your Guru’s words and manipulating His sangat, then you are robbing the wrong thing. If you can’t love in the right way, then your love is incomplete. Love is to ferry across even the so called bad ones, the slanderers and the ungrateful. Hate is part of the five vices, love has no opposition. God is the all-in-one, the one-in-all, the ALL-IN-ALL. I added the last part : ALL-IN-ALL. That is the God I serve.
All is in order and glorious are the ones who glorify the Truth and uplift others. The one who downplays others, including their Guru and the BrahmGianis, the sons/daughters of God, that one is already inflicted. The one who only sees faults in others, is actually the one who is at fault.
To sit in the Mansarovar (God’s Body of Light) is easy, but now come back on Earth and sit in the gutter, hold the needy and hurt and uplift them. Action is better than talking big about spiritual achievements and rewards. God loves everything because everything is God. It is all Him. He even sends food to the ones in hell. When you were in hell state of being, suffering and sick, did you not get food to eat?
I don’t hate anyone. Just want to know why on going so high in spirituality, did you not go low in humility? The higher you go, the lower you have to become inside. I gave you Mukti Marg – the path to set you free, that is infinitely more than what your parents gave you, they only gave you life. You are supposed to love your Guru more than anything, otherwise your SatGuru is still not POORA (perfect/complete/everything) for you.
The Sant is the one who hates no one. The Sant is the Mark of Truth in ABSOLUTE LOVE. Even if you still think I am at fault and false, then ask yourself, “did I not place you with God?” But still if you want to indulge in Maya, blinded by your inflated pride that makes you think its OK to downplay your Guru, then that is what you have tied yourself to going forward. (What you sow is what you reap.)
Each word I say has a very deep meaning behind it, don’t underestimate it.
PREETO: Baba Ji whatever you say is “DHUR KEE BANI” (Word of God) for us. May we always stay under your feet. May we always listen to you and put it into practise. Otherwise what was the point of taking on a Guru if we were not going to listen to him? May we never forget the suffering and sickness and torment we were in BEFORE we were blessed to meet you and be blessed by you. No matter what happens Baba ji, may we never, never, never leave the sanctuary of your lotus feet. We also had desires to be something spiritual, to have spiritual rewards, to be a spiritual leader, we had so many desires for sex and money and power. Looking back Baba ji, we were so dumb, but you have got us through it all. We don’t want anything now, even though we are still full of so many other desires. We have seen how the ones who came to you with desires of spiritual achievements have succumbed to pride of those rewards. May we learn from other’s mistakes, just keep us as the lowest in service. We don’t need anything else ji. We love you Baba ji.
Dandauth Bandhna.
